A RESURRECTION MORNING TRIBUTE TO GODSWILL OKUMOGWE (PAPI)

HEAVEN RECEIVES A HUMBLE SOUL TODAY

Godswill was a good one. Full stop.

Unassuming, quiet and loyal, you would almost not notice his presence. Until now.

The absence and chasm is glaring now. Our eyes can clearly see the value he brought to us.

Such levels of consistency over the years to the Lord's work.

When it's all been said and done, did we live our life for good. And for God?

In this era of dwindling loyalties & fast paced schedules, Godswill was a guarantee in the Tenor seat. His tall, beautiful and gangly frame was legendary as he lifted the cross of Christ time and again during every church service.

Nothing could separate him from the love of Christ.

Not money - trekking from Ojabugbe to Okere road every other tuesday and thursday evening for rehearsals was proof of that.

Not time - even as age touched his vocal chords, he never stopped attempting the high notes that define us as Tenor singers.

Not health - even as he navigated the final days here with us, his devotion to the cause never wavered

By God's grace, Not death - we hope to see him again on that beautiful resurrection morning.

Death always finds a way to bring us together, giving us a sense of perspective. Brood over our priorities and struggle with a sense of nostalgia and what could have been.

We take solace in our faith and keep the flame of God's work burning - doing our best with whatever time we have left and identifying avenues to care for the weak, poor and down trodden still living amongst us.

GOODBYE , BROTHER GODSWILL.
